20 Yes or No Questions for Jehovah's Witnesses

1). Is Mark 1:2 a quote from Isaiah the prophet? (Have them look this up in their NWT).
For you after they answer{Mark 1:2 is a quote from both Malachi 3:1 and Isaiah 40:3}

2). Were churches destroyed wholesale and church members by the millions in 1918?
For you after they answer {IN their book The Finished Mystery published in 1917, on page 485 we read: Also, in the year 1918, when God destroys the churches wholesale and the church members by million, it shall be that any that escape shall come to the works of Pastor Russell to learn the meaning of the downfall of Christianity.}

3). Do Jehovah's Witnesses approve of Roman Catholic Bibles?
For you after they answer {The Greek text of the NWT is the Westcott and Hort Greek text which comes from the Vaticanus (Vatican which is Catholic) and when it comes to textual variants lines up with Catholic Bibles and takes the Catholic reading.

4). Is it true that no human interpretation of Scripture is advanced in WTBTS publications?
For you after they answer {In their book Reconciliation published in 1928, on page 6 we read ""The writer does not give his opinion. No human interpretation of scripture is advanced."}

5). Is the new birth necessary to not only go in to the kingdom but to see it as well?
For you after they answer {This is John 3:3 from the NWT " In response Jesus said to him: “Most truly I say to you, unless anyone is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God}

6). Does the word "certain" mean "sure; true; unquestionable; cannot be denied; existine in fact and truth" according to the dictionary?
For you after they answer {This comes into play in regards to their belief that Luke 16:19-28 is a parable. These verses should be shared first before you go into Luke 16 with them. Luke: 1:4,5; Lk.5:17; Lk. 6:2; Lk. 7:2; Lk. 8:2, 22, 27; Lk. 10:25; Lk. 10:38; Lk. 14:2

7). Is the following the Gospel according to the WTBTS  - "The re-establishment of God's kingdom with Christ's second presence commencing in 1914 "?
For you after they answer {1 Corinthians 15:1-4 contains the true Gospel.}

8). Has the WTBTS ever taught anything Scripturally incorrect?
They should answer yes to this. If they say no, you can refer back to question 2 above or contact me for more false teachings of theirs that they no longer teach/believe.

9). Might the WTBTS be teaching anything Scripturally incorrect now?
They will most likely answer no, but with the plethora of teachings in their past that they now no longer believe, the only honest is answer is that yes they might be.

10). Does the Bible give a false prophet an excuse because he admits to making mistakes?
For you after they answer {Read 2 Peter 2:1-3 and Ezekiel 13:9}

11). Do you agree that Deuteronomy 18:21-22 teaches that a true prophet of God gives prophecies coming true 100% of the time, and a false prophet gives prophecies that don't come true?
For you after they answer {Deuteronomy 13 warns that a prophet must teach correctly about God. Chapter 18 tells us the prophet's prophecies must come to pass. Paul tells us in Galatians 1:8-9 that even angels can appear with a wrong message. We are to compare the message with the teachings of the apostles. In Acts 17:10-12}

12). Have you been born again?
For you after they answer {According to WTBTS only the 144,000 are born again, but go back to John 3:3 and ask them if they hope to see the kingdom}

13). Has the WTBTS ever lied, covered up or changed doctrines or dates?
For you after they answer {This is a loaded question. They have changed the dates for the invisible return of Christ. They have changed the meaning of "this generation" from Matthew 24:34 several times. They have gone back and forth on the resurrection of the men of Sodom, just to use 3 examples.

14). Can Jehovah's Witnesses hold and discuss openly with other Witnesses opinions that differ from orthodox WTBTS teachings?
I have been given yes and no answers to this question.

15). Have you ever disagreed with a WTBTS teaching?
I have yet to encounter a JW who will give a yes answer to this question.

16). Has the WTBTS ever used quotes out of context in support of any of their teachings?
For you after they answer {the WTBTS had a publication called Should You Believe In The Trinity that is no longer available. No surprise as this publication used many quotes out of context. You can go to http://mmoutreachinc.com/jehovahs_witnesses/examintrinity.html to see examples of this.

17). Will I believe WTBTS doctrines if I read just the Bible?
For you after they answer {They should say yes to this unless this belief has also changed. In the Watchtower magazine of  August 15, 1981 on page 29 they said "They say that it is sufficient to read the Bible exclusively, either alone or in small groups at home. But, strangely, through such 'Bible reading,' they have reverted right back to the apostate doctrines that commentaries by Christendom's clergy were teaching 100 years ago."}

18). Did the WTBTS predict that the "battle in the day of Jehovah" will begin against the modern antitype of Jerusalem, Christendom in the 20th century?
For you after they answer {" in the 1971 book The Nations Shall Know That I am Jehovah, on page 216 we read "Shortly, within our twentieth century, the "battle in the day of Jehovah" will begin against the modern antitype of Jerusalem, Christendom."}

19). Where does the Bible teach that people will get a second chance after death to Obey the JW message?
For you after they answer {Whatever verse(s) they give you, it will be obvious they are reading this teaching into it. You can read where they believe this will happen by going to https://www.jw.org/en/publications/books/bible-teach/hope-resurrection-of-dead-loved-ones/ and scrolling down to question n answer 19.}

20.) Does adding the word “other” at Colossians 1:16 change the meaning that can clearly be read in the Greek?
For you after they answer {The only answer is yes as the word other is nowhere in the Greek and has been added to take away from Jesus being God.}
